Computer Illustration

Computer illustration or digital illustration

Computer illustration or digital illustration is the use of digital tools to produce images under the direct manipulation of the artist, usually through a pointing device such as a tablet or a mouse. It is also distinct from digital manipulation of photographs, in that it is an original construction "from scratch". (Photographic elements may be incorporated into such works, but they are not the primary basis or source for them.)

Task 1:Value
1. As a good start lecturer teaches us using VALUE in digital painting to make the object look like 3D

2.First,I choose the colour blue from lightness to darkness of blue colour

3. After I choose value colour as beginner, then drawing  a shape and fill with value colour.I fill the rectangle that i choose and fill blue colour as base colour.

4. Next I put the second colour with the new layer, and make some shadow on the box.
I fill it repeat this step from lightness colour to darkness colour and make it more look like 3D.

5.Adding lightness color to make it more look 3D.

This is the finished artwork of value. And the result that using value colour is looking very nice and 3D effect.

Task 2: Portrait
Our lecturer want us choose 1 picture that we like first. After that he teaching us using complementary colour to paint it as digital painting.
Our lecturer want us using complementary colour because he want us more understand about that where should we need to notice. As example, where we need highlight, darkness colour or lightness colour and also its shadow and more about its detail.

1.I choose Avril Lavigne as my Portrait.

2.After that,I using a small brush to draw out the outline of the portrait. This is more easily for us to paint it nicely.

3.Next,I started to choose complementary colour from lightness to darkness.

4.I create a new layer and place a small portrait picture at beside to let me more easily know where should I paint highlight and its shadow with using colour value.

5. Then, I start with using medium colour that's red colour as the base of face colour.

6.Then I paint more detail on this portrait depends on its complementary colour.

Task 3:Matte Painting
Matte painting is a painted representation of a landscape, set, or distant location that allows filmmakers to create the illusion of an environment that is nonexistent in real life or would otherwise be too expensive or impossible to build or visit. Historically, matte painters and film technicians have used various techniques to combine a matte-painted image with live-action footage. At its best, depending on the skill levels of the artists and technicians, the effect is "seamless" and creates environments that would otherwise be impossible to film. In the scenes the painting part is static and movements are integrated on it.
In Matte painting, there are 60% for EDIT and 40% for PAINTING.

1.I decided to do a scenery that is some hoary feeling and there are difference type of mushroom in this jungle. So I choose 1 jungle picture from internet.

2.I paint the tree with red colour.
