 week3                                                Principles of Design/Arts
The principles use the elements of design to create a composition.

week 2                                               Element of graphic design
Design elements are the basic units of a painting, drawing, design or other visual piece and include colour, shape, texture, space and form.

10 basic elements of design
Line is the first and most basic element of design. In drawing,a line is the stroke of the pen or pencil but in graphic design,it's any two connected points.Lines are useful for dividing space and drawing the eye to a specific location.

Colour is one of the most obvious element of design. It can stand alone as a background or applied to other elements.Colour creates a mood within the piece and tell the story about the brand.

Shape are defined by boundaries, such as a line or colour, and they are often used to emphasize a portion of the page.

Space is one of the most commonly underutilized and misunderstood aspects of designing for the page.Use negative space to create shapes as you would any other element.

Texture can create a more three-dimensional appearance on this two-dimensional surface. It also helps build an immersive world.

Typography is the single most important part of graphic and web design.Like colour, texture, and shapes, the fonts you used to tell readers.

Scale(size) :playing with the scale and size of your objects, shapes, type and other elements add interest and emphasis.Subtle differences suit proffesional content, while bold ones prefer crative enterprises.

Dominance and Emphasis:emphasis has more to do with an object, colour or style dominating another for a heightened sense of contrast.Constrast is intriguing, and it creates a focus point.

Balance have two schools, there are symmetry and asymmetry.Designer much prefer asymmetry for its eye-catching nature, symmetry does have its place.

Harmony is the main goal of graphic design, according to Alex White, author of "The Elements of Graphic Design".Harmony is what you get when all pieces work together.
